This List and SD Society Membership, apersonal perspective

I was a member of the System Dynamics Society for about ten years. I let my
membership lapse only because I have been retired from consulting for
several years (except pro bono work), and could no longer justify the fees.
While I have been an admirer and student of SD since 1963, I have never
been more than a dabbler in SD modeling and therefore usually do not feel
qualified to contribute to the discussions on this list. I continue,
however, as an avid listener on this list because of my interest in SD, my
conviction that it is an extremely important discipline, and because of the
very high quality of the dialog. I have abandoned other lists in which I
had a great interest (notably the organizational learning and the
complexity-management lists) because the quality of the dialog was
disappointing.
