Dear Peter,
thanks for bringing up the issue - particularly with your interest in
spatial modelling.
Andy Fords book contains some exploration with space in one of the
appendices [Ford, A. (1999) Modeling the Environment: an Introduction to
System Dynamics Modeling of Environmental Systems. Island Press: Covelo,
CA.]
Another book of interest in the same area would be: [Deaton, M.L., and
J. Winebrake (2000) Dynamic Modeling of Environmental Systems.
Springer-Verlag: New York.]
In the general sense, Urban Dynamics (along with World Dynamics,
Sustainable Development, etc.) is taken up by the Environmental Dynamics
SIG of the System Dynamics Society [home.utad.pt/ed].
