While it is true that technical conversations are not common, on those
occasions that I have asked for specific technical help, it has been
generously and warmly offered both on list and privately (and by those
very world known specialists of whom you speak). This is a list of very
generous folks; ask away, Im sure your experience will be similar.
The volume of technical advice that IS offered on the list may be
non-obvious. Not infrequently, it takes the form of, "see so-and-sos
article in SD Review", or "see Sterman, page x". The technical
explanations in the articles or books often far exceed what can be
accomplished through the list itself.
