what does "\!\!\!" mean in comments?

It comes automatically sometimes and I don't know what's the problem with my codes.

the \! is used to break up comments for Lookups. The comment goes on the top - then \!bottom then \!side. But if you leave both side and bottom blank it adds in \!\! anyway and then the next time you edit the Lookup this turns into \!\!\! - which is a bit annoying - I will take a look at it.
