Dear SD mailing list users,

Im very interesting in SD particularly its application in resource
model and engineering model. It has been 4 months I try to develop SD
model in City Development at Bandung my hometown.
This model, I plan to consist of 9 sectors which are all part of 6 zone
that represented 6 area in this city.

The sectors are population, pollution, education, forrest conservation,
farm land conservation, transportation infrastructur, water reservation,
farm occupation, and health.

I looking for model or reference that are related to this topic.
And I would be greatly appreciate anyone who can help or guide me.

This is interesting. I am currently a member of the Electronic Government
Task Force Team for the Malaysian Government in the Multimedia Super
Corridor (MSC) Project. We are completing the Concept RFP for the
development of a Development Monitoring Systems for the MSC. I felt very
strongly on the need for government to be anticipatory. And, I am
recommending the using of SD to simulate senarios of using IT to improve
national planning and capacity for governance. There are several sources
for research grant as well as project development budget being provided.
Prof. Forresters Road Maps project can be a recipient for the grant.
Similar project, like this one but specifically designed for MSC, is both a
systems need and an area for further research. There are many possibilities
to use the Malaysian Governments initiative as a "spring board" to put SD
into a comprehensive and practical use in national and area development
planning. This remind me of the early initiatives by the Club of Rome. Any
ideas?

Gentlemen:

Before SD can be effectively utilized, it seems to me that one
needs to first determine what information a government needs to be an
effective administration. Figuring out what to analyse can be as
difficult sometimes as the analysis itself. But to be an anticipatory
government, one must first answer the basic questions of who, what, why,
when, where which one, and what kind. Once done, then you have a frame
work from which to launch forth.

it would be interesting to look at the use system dynamics to
look at the impact of using IT in a Louisiana city government.
