Hi

I am a newcomer of System Dynamics (SD) and would like to know more

about this analysis technique.

Have SD been applied in any practical policy work (for which government or corporation)? I think
success stories are very important to build up user confidence.

Sucess stories - implemented SD in policies

Hi Tony,

a SD newbie myself (started about two years ago on the journey) I would say there are quite a few sucess stories around, where SD could be used to change current policies.

Just have a look at the System Dynamics Society's website and go through the conference proceedings. There you will find -besides the theoretically orientated academic work- quite a few real life examples.

Another excellent source of examples is Business Dynamics by John D. Sterman where quite a few examples are named.

For non-systemdynamicists it always looks like there is no "real" use in applying SD to their own work field or their perceived complex problems.

One of the most effective results of SD thinking is the unsurfacing of "hidden" mental models that hinder a sustainable problem solution to present day.

So just tell us what your problem in case is like and this could make it more visible to what range SD can be really used.

Cheers

Ralf
