how to convert a value into a random (affected by certain fa

Post by toukairin »

so let's say there are three values (share 1 to 3), each is a fraction of one, all summed together are equal to one (1).

Then I convert them into flight hours, with the value one (1) actually is equal to 800 hours. So the fraction 1/16 means it's 50 hours, 3/8 means 300 hours, and so on.

Now I want to know the random chance that share 1 to 3 would use their flight hours per year. But there is a factor that affect the "randomness", in which the basic rule is that "the more share the owner got the greater the chance of him using it".

I'm having difficulty in converting there values to make such random value. Could anybody point any reference I might use or help me in any way?

Attached is my futile attempt on doing the job.

Thank you very much before.
