Hi
I try to run an optimization on a variable called the effective spot market price and selected the variable from the available variables in the model. However I received this error:
ERROR: Name effective spot market price not found in actual data files.
Any idea how I can overcome this?
Thanks

It sounds like you are attempting a calibration optimisation (matching a model value to an external data value). If you are, you need to specify in an external datasource the values that you are trying to match (hence the error).
If you are trying to maximise a parameter, turn the calibration off and select policy optimisation.
Tony.
If you are trying to maximise a parameter, turn the calibration off and select policy optimisation.

Also, you can't calibrate a model variable against a second ordinary variable (level or auxiliary). If you are doing calibration, the "Compare to" variable has to be a data variable.
