subscript help

Post by modeler »

I am trying to model working population along two dimensions age and gender. The working population in my model is a level (stock) variable. For every time period I need to increase the age of the working population by one year and need to track it. For example, if at time period T working male population in 56 years age bracket is say 100 then at T+1 I want to increase the age of this group to 57 years (56+1). I intent to do it using subscripts and have the related data in excel file. I am new to vensim so please suggest me stepwise on how to go about it. I am using vensim professional version 6.0.1 on windows. Excel file having indicative data and formate is also attached.

Welcome to the forum.

There are two examples in the Vensim help system that should help. See
http://www.vensim.com/documentation/ind ... _extra.htm

If you are running Windows 7, they should be in
C:\Users\Public\Vensim\help\models\Sample\EXTRA

Have a look and let us know if they do what you need.

Tony.
