Hello,

I'm using Vensim DSS 8.0.6 Double Percision x64. I have a VCD file template that I have been using for years and so was created in a much older version of Vensim DSS, but it has worked in all successive versions up to now. I use it because it has various parameters that I need. But now, when I open the VCD template and make any changes, then try to save, it crashes the whole program and both the Venapp text editor and Vensim close without saving.

I've tried opening the VCD files in Notepad++ and I can edit and save them there, so that is what I am doing now, but it is frustrating not to be able to make any changes within Vensim, especially as I cannot use the editor in sketch mode.

The problem does not appear to be limited to my old template file. If I open a model and try to create a new VCD file through the Venapp editor, the program still crashes when I try to save that VCD file, even if I have only added one variable.

Is this a known problem or is it limited to my local installation?

It's not a known problem, let me know what operating system and I'll look into it right now.

My operating system is Windows 10. It does seem to be linked to the latest release of Vensim, though, because my laptop runs exactly the same operating system but an older version of Vensim DSS and the problem doesn't happen on that machine.

I think I've found the bug, should have a fix by the end of today.

Vensim 8.0.9 has just been uploaded, it fixes this issue.
