Hello,

When I try to change from Sketch to Text view in a model, the Text view opens, but a pop-up dialogue box saying 'Formatting (model name)' appears and never goes away. I can't use Text view because of this, although I can return to Sketch view and continue working. Can I suppress this dialogue?

Can you post or email the model? What Vensim version are you using?

I have emailed a copy of the model to vensim at vensim dot com.
I am using Vensim DSS 8.0.9 Double Precision (x64) on Windows 10

I now have the opposite problem! I upgraded to the latest version of DSS 8.1 x64. Now, the model opens directly in Text view, but when I try to change to Sketch view, I get a STOP dialogue, saying 'Syntax error'. Following advice, I eliminated all the 'Supplementary' tags in the model, but that hasn't made any difference.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this problem?

A quick update, just in case anyone else encounters this problem. The issue appears to be caused by an 'ALLOCATE BY PRIORITY' function in the model and if I delete that equation the model returns to normal functionality.

I found the ALLOC problem only in the 32 bit version, so this is strange.

I am using the x64 DSS 8.1 version on a new Windows 10 desktop PC and an older Windows 10 laptop. Both machines give the same syntax error and I found this morning that the 'ALLOCATE BY PRIORITY' file from the Vensim Function examples folder gives exactly the same error, again on both machines.

The other ALLOCATE example files work properly. Only ALLOCATE BY PRIORITY gives this error.
