I have experienced this problem "the procedure entry point getfullpathnamew could not be located in dynamic link library C:\program files\vensim\venple32.exe"

I have just installed Vensim on Windows 8 x32, and when I try to open it it gives me that error.

Has anyone experienced it, and how did you resolve it?

Is your computer fully up to date? That looks like an operating system problem.

And did you install the latest Vensim, or the Windows 7 version? You might have more success with the Windows 7 version.

Yes, the computer is fully up to date.

The initial problem was missing DLL files. I then downloaded those. Thereafter it showed me this error.

Is the Windows 7 version available for free?

What was the original error about missing dlls?

And where did you get these "dlls"? You might need to delete them immediately and run a virus scan.

"The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-file-l1-2-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this program."

The solution for this error is in the FAQ.

I strongly suggest deleting the files you downloaded yourself and running a virus scan. Then follow the instructions in the FAQ.

I'd also backup any work you have ASAP.
