Loading Data as a Model not available in Open Model menu

Post by EwoutH »

I tried to follow the Loading Data as a Model documentation to open data without having an existing model. When I go to File > Open Model, there isn't a Datasets (Runs) option for file types or anything else with which I can open my .vdfx dataset.

Vensim 9.1.1, Windows x64.

Screenshot and .vdfx dataset attached below.

We haven't implemented this yet in version 9.

You can still see the contents of the VDFX file if you export the dataset, or go back to the old GUI to do this.

Actually this does work in v9, it's just that the file type filter is missing from the dropdown menu.

You can use a standard OS trick to access it: just type *.vdf in the File Name field, and hit return - you'll see datasets listed (if there are any). Then you can select & open one.
