Hallo,
I am a student preparing a dissertation and i want to use vensim for my research on social systems.
I am collecting first experience on the PLE version right now and I am stuck at one simple problem:
I am trying to built a variable that starts at a certain level (let`s say 100), rises to a certain level after one step ( to 200) and after that, it should rise every time step for 2%. That means:
Year one: 100
Year two: 200
Year three: 204
Year four: 208,08
.
.
.
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance,
Konstantin
Help for equation
I added a simple model with 3 examples.
Level will work fine if you use a time step of 1 year. This is fine if you are planning to run a simulation of several years.
If your simulation will only run for a couple of years, you will use a smaller calculation time step (this can be changed in the settings). This is were the 2 other levels come in.
Level 0, changes after the year has passed. Level 1 changes on the year end.
Level 2 is added to show how the principle used in Level would work out with a smaller time step.
Hope this helps,
Jeroen
