Hi,
I am looking for a study that compares SD with DES. I found the
following article, but I couldn't reach it. Can anybody send me a soft
copy of it? Also, please let me know if you know other articles that
deals with this topic.

Sweetser, A. (1999). A Comparison of System Dynamics (SD) and Discrete
Event Simulation (DES). 17th International Conference of the System
Dynamics Society and 5th Australian & New Zealand Systems Conference,
Wellington, New Zealand, The System Dynamics Society.

Thanks,

Hello,

you could run a search on this forum and find the earlier discussions about DES vs. SD. References about the literature are also given.

I don't think that you can usefully compare SD and DES - they are different
things for different purposes. In any case, Mike Pidd's textbooks have
'compared' SD and DES for many years past.
