Environmental Dynamics Update: 16 June 2003
NB: since most of the following issues seem relevant to the general System
Dynamics audience, this ED Update is also posted to the SDS listerv.
1. EDAM AGENDA: The agenda of the first Environmental Dynamics
Administrative Meeting (EDAM) is posted at the website of the ED SIG [
http://home.utad.pt/ed/sig ], under "Activities". Details are included.
Please, prepare your questions and/ or issues to raise.
2. ENVIRONMENTAL DYNAMICS AWARD: As the issue is already on the EDAM agenda
(Section C), and is being prepared for presentation at the SDS PC meeting, I
would like to make a proposal to all and receive your feedback. NB: To
guarantee items (c) and (d) below are not empty, I make a personal pledge of
100 euro per year. Any other contributions (money or ideas)?

=====
3. PUBLISHERS: I am beginning to receive responses from publishing houses,
regarding my proposal for the creation of a non-profit Sustainable
Development/ Environmental Dynamics division within their organizations. A
UK-based publisher has responded that they have forwarded the request to the
right person, while a NL-based publisher has come back with a
counter-proposal for a publishing partnership (to define) with the SDS. As
this issue, is also being prepared for presentation at the SDS PC meeting, I
would like to have some ideas from all interested parties - e.g. things to
look for, negotiation terms, etc.
Best regards,
Tasso
