Switch on grid in the sketch window

Post by Mattes_01 »

Hello!

I just wanted to ask if it is possible to switch on a grid in the sketch window.

That would help to align all objects which appear sometimes not in one line, and I don't want to use a ruler on my screen, hehe.

Thank you and have a nice weekend!

It's under Tools>Options>Sketch>Snap-to for Word Position and Sizing

Hello but I'm sorry, I cannot find this window.

I mean when I search the help, I also can find it under the "sketch" selection, but

1st: I don't have the "tools" pop up (there is just File, Edit, Layout, Model, Options, Windows, Help)

2nd: My sketch (via Model - Settings - Sketch) looks totally different.

Maybe somebody knows which mistake I am doing :)

Thank you very much n best regards

Unfortunately, the layout grid settings are not available in Vensim PLE. The Layout Menu does have some options for adjusting the vertical and horizontal positions. You can also zoom in so that you can have finer control of the positioning.

Now that I have access to Vensim Professional, is it possible to switch on a grid, such that the whole workscreen is full of dots, like squared or graph paper?

So that all boxed have the same size and same horizontal and vertical positioning.

Sorry!

I misunderstood the meaning of this setting.

I thought this will be the setting for the standard alignment inside the e.g. stock variable boxes.

Now I got it, it isn't a grid but when dragging the variables the difference can clearly be seen.

Thank you!
