modeling at the San Francisco Systems Thinking Study Group. The official
invitation from organizer Jeff Venable (JTVenable@aol.com) is below. Please

Hello Fellow Systems Thinkers:
In a recent interview by The Systems Thinker Newsletter Jay Forrester
discusses introducing a deep understanding of a system by saying, "The right
way is to go deeply into some specific issues, do serious computer
simulation
modeling, and show how the troubles of the organization are being generated,
how problems evolved out of past policies, and how alternative policies
would
improve behavior."
Computer simulation will be the focus of the upcoming April 28 Study Group
meeting. William Glass-Husain formerly of Powersim, and now developing his
own simulation-based e-learning venture, will be leading us in the practice
segment.
Weve all heard and read about simulation. During this meeting Will is
going
to give us insight on how it works, and be applied to the real world. Those
who own a laptop are asked to bring it. Well cluster in small
groups as Will leads us in simulation exercises. This promises to be a
stimulating learning experiences - please join us.
The meeting is scheduled for:
Saturday, April 28.
10:00am. to 1:00pm.
350 Townsend St.
San Francisco
Please RSVP to me - JTVenable@aol.com, indicate whether you have a laptop
for
the small group exercises.
Space is limited.
Looking forward to seeing you on April 28!
Thanks,
Jeff ~
