Senior Faculty Position in Systems Science
Binghamton University - State University of New York
The Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science of
Binghamton University invites applications for a senior faculty
position in the Department of Systems Science and Industrial
Engineering. A candidate is sought for teaching and research in the
area of systems science. Along with an earned doctorate, the
candidate should have a background in classical systems theory and
soft computing, as well as competency in some of the newly developing
areas of systems science such as chaotic systems, cellular automata,
self-organizing systems, intelligent systems, and complexity theory.
The candidate is expected to have demonstrated leadership in Systems
Science and an ability to sustain an externally funded research
program. An established academic background that demonstrates
research excellence and teaching ability is essential.
Nominations or applications, each including a letter of
nomination/application, resume and names of at least three references
should be sent to Distinguished Professor Hari Srihari, Chairman,
Department of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering, T. J.
Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science, Binghamton
University, Binghamton, New York 13902-6000. Review will begin after
February 21, 2005 and continue until the position is filled.
