Posted by ""Duggan, James"" <james.duggan@nuigalway.ie> Hi,
Based on feedback received on the prototype multi-criteria solver, I've added a utility that translates - with restrictions - VENSIM mdl files to the XML-format understood by the solver. If anyone is interested in making use of this, please drop me an email at jim.duggan@nuigalway.ie, and I will send on a copy.
best regards,
Jim.
For information, the restrictions include:
- For integral equations, only variable names are recognised by the converter, and no expression parsing can be performed, and the initial value must be set as a numeric value (i.e. the converter will not process a VENSIM integral equation where the initial value is an auxiliary or an expression)
- There are only a limited set of functions that can be mapped from VENSIM
- The converter does not support translation of VENSIM's logical expression or subscript capability
- Variable names with a whitespace will be truncated (for example, ""Retailer Inventory"" will get truncated to ""RetailerInventory"".
