SD Interest Group Meeting in Washington, DC

Greetings All:
This is to announce the next meeting of the Washington Area SD Interest
Group. For those of you new to the list and the announcement, we are an
informal group from across the area, government and privately employed,
SD practitioners and SD enthusiasts. We meet 4 or 5 times a year to
promote interest in SD and SD-related issues, to have the opportunity to
see one another face-to-face, and to hear a presentation from a
colleague. There is no charge for the meetings or to belong to the
group. Most importantly, we hope that our meetings and the
relationships that ensue will be mutually beneficial for all who attend.

The first meeting of 1998 will be held at GDSS, Inc. in Georgetown,
Washington, DC on Thursday, February 5th, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Pizza and drinks will be served. Our speaker will be Dr. Jeff Conklin.
Jeff is an internationally recognized expert in the area of corporate
shared memory. He will give us a presentation on corporate performance
measures, the development of corporate dashboards, and the use of SD in
the identification of leading indicators. I believe you will all find
something of value in Jeff=92s presentation, and in the Q&A session that
follows.

For those of you new to GDSS, we are located at the corner of Thomas
Jefferson St and K St in NW. We are directly across the street from the
Washington Harbor. Parking is available in the Colonial parking lot at
1050 Thomas Jefferson, right next door to our building. If you need

(faffeldt@gdss.com). ONLY RESPOND IF YOU ARE COMING. IF YOU SAY YOU
WILL COME, PLEASE DO OR LET ME KNOW BY THE AFTERNOON OF THE 5TH OF
FEBRUARY THAT PLANS HAVE CHANGED AND YOU WON=92T BE COMING. We like to
order an appropriate amount of food, so your cooperation is appreciated.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you, and I know you=92re really
going to enjoy Jeff=92s presentation.
