System dynamics and GIS discussion at conference

Post by paulnewton@attglobal.net »

As part of the Modeling Assistance Workshop (MAW) at the upcoming
International System Dynamics Society Conference in Atlanta, we will be
hosting a roundtable on "system dynamics and GIS (geographic information
system) modeling." This is in response to the following question by a
researcher at Oregon Health Sciences University:

"There has been a fair amount of interest in SD linking to GIS
programs. Would it be possible for a meeting of those with such
interest with those who have done it already...I would like to connect
with someone who could be an intermittant mentor in that area or make a
contact list for future exchanges of successes and failures."

The MAW is currently scheduled for Thursday from 10:30-12:00. At present
it is anticipated that the SD-GIS modeling roundtable will take place
during the second half of the workshop, from 11:20 to 12:00. Email me
at pcn4@cornell.edu if you wish to be informed of any changes in the
schedule. The roundtable may continue into the two hour open lunch
period at the discretion of the participants.
