How do I ensure any object is in the front. While 'move to front' etc is in the tools menu it is never highlighted, making it very difficult to create the interface design I'm after i.e. somethings are behind others, when I want them in front.
Thanks

Re: Linking Sliders
As you say not quite what I need but definitely useable. A very clever workaround. I can understand why it is not a builtin function within Vensim as it is a bit sloppy. However, I get enormous mileage out of using very simple, often very simplistic, models to get client engagement and the ability t...

Linking Sliders
Is it possible to link sliders so that the the sum of the linked sliders does not exceed a set figure - in this case 1? I want to build a simple version of my transport model so that the client can 'play' with shifting the percentages of mode choice - in this case car, public transport and active. I...

Re: C-ROADS INTERFACE
Hi Tony Getting there. I've managed to get a drop box calling up the different graphs I need by using the script in the demo you sent as the template. I then tried to get a second combo box to call up a different set of graphs but with no luck. I tried this two ways: Firstly, I simply did a copy and...

Hi Tony Sorry to be pushy as I have no doubt you're very busy, but I am hoping to show the new model to the client within the next week want to finalize the interface soon. If you were able to post the demo that would be really helpful. I'm also happy to send you the model if inserting the code is e...

Re: C-ROADS INTERFACE
Hi Tony
If you could produce a demo that would be great. I think that way I will learn a bit more, rather than simply getting you to add code to a model of mine. However, if it is easier I'm happy to send a suitable model to you.
Thanks for your support

C-ROADS INTERFACE
HI TONY I've been using C-ROADS here in NZ to try and raise interest in using the model to help support conversations about climate change here in NZ. I've also used it to explore how you build interfaces and learning a lot. Amazing what you can find out by interrogating someone else's work - I hope...

Model error message in version 6.0 (DSS)
Hi I just got the email re version 6 and installed the new version (DSS version). I tested it with a model I was working on that took data from excel. I kept getting an error message "Unable to read the file.....[directory string].../Data Input Sheet.xlsx as an Excel file (sst).." I have n...

Thanks for that - something I would never have worked out!
The model works great and I can see how I can utilize the structure in some of my models.
Thanks for our help

Re: Dynamic Graphs
Tony Thank you once again for being so responsive and helpful. It works really well and the Sable graphical functions really help. Re: Dynamic Graphs
Hi Tony Thanks for that. I had tried simulation pause but it has no effect on the graphical output - at least not that I could achieve. That is why I thought there maybe a way of manipulating the output using the Sable graph functions. While vensim is a great product (even better with a Sable front ...

Dynamic Graphs
This may seem an odd query but one of the advantages that ithink and STELLA have over vensim is that when you do a simulation run you can control the speed at which the graphs are created. Not important from any analytic point of view but when you are tying to engage clients and help them hook into ...

Yes I often use two monitors. I have a setup at home and at the office where I connect the MAC to external monitors. I only tend to use the laptop screen on its own when I am travelling.

Thanks Tom It is getting 'curiouser and curiouser'. It's working again. I have no problems with any other software and this is the second time the problem seems to have had a 'miracle cure'. The only idea I have is that it maybe related to the fact that I have Vensim DSS running on Parallels Desktop...

Re: Equation editor hangs programme
No, as it happens with all models. However, I did notice yesterday vensim and venread error files, the date of which equates with the date that the problem started again. I tried to attach the file but received a message 'the extension err is not allowed' so I have put the files up on dropbox - link...
